Copywriting

Website Copywriting A good copywriter knows which words trigger the feelings that compel people to make decisions. They write with flair, making it easy for people to be drawn into what they are saying about your business, services or products. Read an an example of good copywriting for a fictitious Sydney Mercedes Dealer, or just "ok" website copy for a Used Mercedes dealer.

As you may be aware, Google uses a search algorithm which it constantly updates in an attempt to provide search results that are more relevant to search queries.

In March its latest updates were revealed. Although the two updates seem quite minor (especially considering some of the changes we have experienced in the past), the new updates should make results easier to sort through, or at least help with relevance.

The first part of the update improves Google's knowledge of associated terms and concepts that may be related to a search query. In other words, results will start appearing that are relevant to a query, but may be broader in their subject matter.

Google Search Algorithm The second part of the update is more obvious, and related to the descriptions (or snippets of information) that appear under the blue headings in search results. Up until recently, these descriptions were restricted to only two lines of information.

However, now the length of the description will depend on the length of the query string, or the search you initiate.

For example, if you search for "website audits", the justweb™ results show two lines in the description.

But, if you search for "website audits to help with search engine optimisation and copywriting", note that the description is now three lines.

This can be seen even more clearly in a search for "julie kember strongest girl in the world free download". In the example, note how four separate snippets from different parts of the destination page have been included, where in each snippet the corresponding keyphrase has been bolded.

This will enable a greater number of key words and phrases to be displayed in bold font, theoretically enabling a searcher to make a more informed decision about which site is more relevant to their query.

So, once again, it is very important to create unique, relevant content, and know what people search for and how they search in order to get the best result from your website.
