Victor Harbor Holiday House

I have heard of Victor Harbour before, but never really checked it out until someone mentioned the price of real estate down there, and the spectacular views.

Victor Harbour is in South Australia, on the Adeliade end of Encounter Bay in the Great Australian Bight.

There are some beautiful, low priced homes, but this holiday home caught my eye.

Called "The Observatory Beach House", it is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom award winning home perched high up on a hill, just 300 metres walk from the beach, but commanding breathtaking views of Victor Harbor.

As far as a Victor Harbor holiday house goes, I don't think you could do much better, especially for the price. Other people seem to agree too, because The Observatory has been independently recognised by "Beachhouses 2" as one of the most stunning beach houses in Australia and New Zealand.

The house has been designed as a long, double story platform with maximum north facing glass focussed on the coastal panorama, allowing all living rooms spectacular generous views, including of the harbour itself. The design accommodates maximum use of light, casual, contemporary living places with enough scope and flexibility to sleep up to 11 people.

Multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces are provided. Indoor living spaces feature pale Tasmanian oak floorboards, toning with the sandy beach just a few hundred meters away. The charcoal block work is the only heavy element in an interior dominated by warm timber tones and neat white walls. The Observatory was designed by architect Marco Spinelli of Architects Ink.
