I'm in the market for (yet another) pair of sunglasses. This time I thought I'd
go for metal sunglasses because no matter what brand of plastic sunnies I buy,
they always end up the same way - broken, scratched, or simply lost. Just one of
the joys of motorcycling!
Anyway, whilst wandering around the Bankstown Motorcycle Show on Good Friday,
there were many sunglasses on offer at various trade stalls. But one stallholder caught my eye - partly
I guess because of all the empty metal bullet casings which were strewn around
the display stand.
Bullet Eyewear is a unique brand of sunglasses. Each pair of the attractive
sunnies is manufactured from military grade aluminium. And they look tough
too - so tough, I reckon you could drive an M1A2 Abrams tank over them and they
would survive!
Not only that, the polarised lenses are injection moulded and shatterproof
(although, I wouldn't go so far as to suggest they are tank proof), with a UV400 filter category 3 rating
which provides protection like you wouldn't believe!
The glasses are of a unique ergonomic design, and I have to say very comfortable
to wear. With all the toughness and UV protection aside, these metal framed
sunglasses actually look good too.
Bullet Eyewear is an Australian company, and their sunglasses range is designed
here in Australia as well.
They currently have two styles on offer: The aluminium look "Sniper", and the
stylish black "Hitman". Both styles come with a full 12 month warranty.
Price wise, we're talking around $250.00, so they are WAY cheaper than
comparable quality sunglasses.
