This Christmas, I'll be supporting Australian farmers and growers by buying my gourmet food hampers from Dick Smith's General Store.

I have to hand it to Dick - he and his team have built a beautiful shop front, styling it in the theme of an old Australian general store.

But there is nothing much "general" about this store, which also boasts a great online shop too.

The products are top quality, Australian made, grown, and sourced. And yes, while you may pay a bit more for some of their product lines, and indeed their gift hampers, you can be assured that the quality of the product is second to none, and the money all stays where it belongs - in Australia!

The General Store has a wide selection of hampers, priced from only $85.00, and all sport names from Australia's history, such as the "Sir Sidney Nolan Hamper", "Sir Francis Greenway Mint Hamper", "Sir Douglas Mawson Hamper", "Sir Donald Bradman Gourmet Hamper", and the "Sir Charles Kingsford Smith Hamper".

Each hamper is packed with gorgeous and tasty foods and treats, such as the Sir Sidney Nolan Hamper which contains:

Some of the gift hampers come packaged in a very classy wooden crate, which you can reuse... for something... I'm sure I'll find a use for it. But most come in cardboard packaging.

So, if you are in Sydney, drop into the Dick Smith's General Store and check it out. Or, if you can't, have a look at their online shop, in particular the gourmet food hampers.
