Copywriting
A
good copywriter knows which words
trigger the feelings that compel people to make decisions. They write with
flair, making it easy for people to be drawn into what they are saying about
your business, services or products. Read an an example of good copywriting for a
fictitious Sydney
Mercedes Dealer, or
just "ok"
website copy for a
Used Mercedes dealer.

With the meteoric rise in popularity of
Charlie Sheen (
@CharlieSheen
if you've been living under a rock) in the Twittersphere, I wondered how might
Robert Frost have penned one of my favourite poems, "
Stopping by the Woods on a
Snowy Evening", if he was alive today and thinking about Charlie Sheen.
Or not.
Stopping by Sherman Oaks on a Snowy Evening
Whose tweets these are I think I know.
His house is near Mulholland, though;
He will not see me tweeting here
To watch his house fill up with blow.
His many Cadre must think it queer
To stop without a warrior near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his Goddesses bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and #winning thus make.
Sherman Oaks is lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I tweet,
And miles to go before I tweet.
Some notes for those who may be interested:
Robert Frost failed to renew his copyright on "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy
Evening" when it was due in 1951, after first publishing it in the March 7, 1923
issue of
The New Republic (copyright registration date March 8, 1923).
This is an excellent collection of
Robert
Frost poetry.
Charlie Sheen has openly admitted to doing "8 balls" of Cocaine in the
past, colloquially
referred to as blow, among other things. I prefer to call it a waste of good
money, a shortcut to ruin, and quite possibly a gaol cell.
The term "8 ball" is in reference to it being 1/8th ounce (3.5 grams) of
Cocaine. Apparently this is a hell of a lot of coke for one person, but Charlie
has stated he is now clean, and instead his drug of choice is "Charlie Sheen".
Charlie lives in a gated community in Sherman Oaks, just off the famous
Mulholland Dive.
One of Charlies first and most successful hash tags whilst tweeting is "
#winning".
Sheen often refers to his followers/fans as his "Cadre". Cadre was orginally a term
which meant "professional revolutionaries", but a more modern
definition would be a nucleus or core group, especially of trained personnel, able to assume control and to train others.
Broadly, a group of people having some unifying relationship - in this case,
Sheen.
At the time of writing, Charlie is selling out show after show of his "
My
Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option Show" tour, and promising
to donate $1.00 from every ticket to help the people of Japan.
